GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP
EAT BEFORE
It is really important to be well rested before a tattoo session. Your body will be more prepared for the tattoo and it can actually contribute to your body being less sensitive to the feeling.
Make sure you a have balanced and healthy breakfast/lunch before your appointment to keep your energy levels up through the session. This will help your body deal with the tattoo and work against getting light headed.
Also feel free to bring snacks to get you through longer sessions.
STAY HYDRATED
MOISTURISE

SHOWER
DRESS FOR YOUR SESSION
Staying hydrated is particularly important when getting tattooed. Staying well hydrated in the lead up to your session will help with how you feel throughout the process. It also helps the skin take the ink more successfully and contributes toward a better recovery and healing.
Using a gentle moisturiser in the weeks leading up to the appointment really helps to prepare the skin and can make the whole process easier on the day as the skin will take the ink more successfully. Make sure not to apply moisturiser on the actual day of your tattoo though.
This is not a requirement but it always helps to start the session off quickly if the skin is already shaved. Always take care to be gentle with the skin when shaving and try not to use any chemical based gels/creams on the skin during or after shaving.
It is important to have clean skin for your appointment as the needles will cause openings to the top layer which can be susceptible to bacteria.
Your tattooist will have to access the area that is being tattooed so please dress with this in mind,
Loose and comfy trousers, shorts, dresses and singlets are preferable. Strappy bikinis are also useful if you are having work on the torso.
Please be aware that although our artist are as careful as they can be, sometimes it is inevitable that some ink may get onto clothes so please don’t wear your best outfit!
